Privacy & Regulatory Statement

LIL Legal Ltd

We are committed to safeguarding your personal information in line with data protection laws, including the 2018 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

In accordance with current data protection laws, the following Privacy Notice sets out what personal information we may collect about you, how we use it and who it might be shared it with.

Who are we?

LIL Legal Ltd is a paralegal law firm.

We are a United Kingdom registered company (Company number 14081443) and located in London, United Kingdom.

We are a private paralegal firm unregulated by the Law Society or the SRA. We provide case management services.

We employ freelance solicitors under the Legal Standards Board (LSB) 2019 rules. Solicitors instructed by LlL provide their own indemnity insurance.

We arrange barristers on a Direct Public Access basis for litigants in person. We also provide court McKenzie Friend services to litigants in person.

Unless otherwise agreed, we provide client care letters for clients which outline our terms and conditions prior to starting work on a case. All work undertaken is facilitated by our fees which are payable in advance, unless otherwise agreed with the client.

Conduct of Litigation

The Conduct of Litigation is something we take very seriously at LIL Legal Ltd.

We are entirely aware of the rules deriving from the 2007 Legal Services Act.

Therefore and on most occasions, we will communicate directly with Courts as the appointed paralegals for a Direct Access Counsel (with a practising certificate under a client care letter) OR as paralegals to a regulated solicitor.

In the event of us communicating with a court on behalf of a litigant in person, we will write to the given court beforehand and inform them of our intentions in order to seek permission.

The reality is that access to justice is being denied to countless members of the public who cannot afford High Street solicitors and their hourly rates.

Thankfully most judges have afforded us reasonable latitude, especially since the start of the pandemic.
